What To Do Around Leakey, Texas

Summer is here and if you haven’t already booked your stay at River Bluff Cabins on the Frio River, be sure to go to www.riverbluffcabins.com soon and book your stay!  When you arrive, you’re see why we call it our ‘Lil Piece of Heaven on Earth.’

Besides the calming Frio, you’ll find our beautiful different sized cabins are nestled along a 1,000 feet of pristine river frontage and you’ll have a front row seat for some of the most gorgeous sun rises and sun sets you’ll see anywhere.

But there’s fun to be had all around us as well.

In and around Leakey, you’ll find there’s lots of fun to be had – getting back to nature is so rejuvenating.  The town itself was named for Tennessee pioneer John H. Leakey (1824-1900) and imagine his amazement when he first saw the landscape, wow!!!

Today, there’s increasing activity in the area thanks to its stunning beauty.

In fact, you might need days to pack in all the activities.  You can go on a hayride, ride horses, go bird watching, take in a round of golf, take the Frio Bat Flight Tour, visit the majestic Garner State Park or the fabulous Lost Maples State Park and much, much more.  Not to mention, the most famous of them all – “The Three Sisters.”

So, if you haven’t booked your stay – don’t wait!  Just listen to what M. Montgomery of Dallas, Texas had to say:

“Perfect place for family and friends.  Five of five stars.  Have stayed at River Bluff on several occasions on bike trips through the Texas Hill Country.  I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to the Leaky, Texas area for camping, cycling, family reunions and a motorcycle trip through the Thee Sisters.  They are very motorcycle friendly – as long as everyone behaves – and even provide a micro-fiber towel to clean the windshields.  It’s the only place I would stay in the area and I have recommended them to all of my family and friends.  Please keep up the good work!!”
